Brief Tour Info
The Dyatlov Pass is part of the Ural Mountains located in the North Urals and is usually associated with the Dyatlov Pass Incident resulting in deaths of nine experienced ski hikers on the night of February 2, 1959. The incident happened on the east shoulder of the mountain Kholat Syakhl (Dead Mountain in the language of local people). The mountain pass was later named after the group`s leader, Igor Dyatlov.
The authorities finished the investigation soon stating the purpose of death as "a compelling natural force". Still, there has been a lot of controversy giving birth to tens of theories of the tourists’ deaths. Major theories state that it has either been an avalanche, a falling rocket, an infrasound wave or even a UFO, although the actual data was kept top secret and it seems impossible now to find which version is true.
